While the MAAPP program focuses on academics, we also want you to have fun! Building connections with other students on campus is very important. It is equally important that students get to know the faculty and staff who are at the college. Research indicates that students who do build strong connections with those around them increase their chances of being academically successful.
During the program, great efforts are taken to allow the group to bond. The reality is when students go way to college they often do not know many students at the college they choose. For other students, this is their first time away from home. As a result, we place great emphasis on creating opportunities for students to get to know one another.
Students in the program have the opportunity to participate in competitive team building activities, challenge the intellect of the faculty and staff during Faculty & Staff Night, and participate in games led by the upper class mentors.
