Study-skills sessions, including time management, are offered through classroom presentations, as well as small groups and one-to-one meetings by the tutors. Test preparation, test-taking, note-taking, textbook reading hints, and memory skills can be covered in these sessions. Nursing and Health Studies tutoring is available for any student having difficulty in nursing or a health studies major. The professional tutors provide assistance with issues related to a health studies or nursing courses including how to study for science and health courses, writing projects and reports, test-taking skills, and discovering your personal learning style.

The learning center services of the Academic Services Office are open to all. Students seeking professional tutoring assistance can receive help in any of the
enrichment courses including English, reading, mathematics, and algebra. In addition, professional assistance is offered to students writing papers for any course on campus through pre-scheduled appointments.

Peer tutoring is available in over 35 academic courses for students seeking academic support. Students who have demonstrated knowledge of academic content may be recommended by faculty members to serve as peer tutors. Peer tutors receive training and are paid by the College for their services to other students.
