Theatre Scholarship

Theatre is more than just an extracurricular activity at Mount Aloysius College. Our theatrical season has expanded to four shows, and ranges from tragicomedies to original staged readings to musicals. Our highly successful Theatre Program is preparing for another great season at Mount Aloysius College.

Our major in English will include a concentration in Theatre, and five students in ANY major will be awarded $1,000.00 Theatre Scholarships. Best of all, these Theatre Scholarships will be renewable annually.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Be a traditional full-time student at Mount Aloysius.
• Complete the application and your personal essay.
• Send three original letters of recommendation within two weeks of your application.
• Schedule and complete the interview/audition process.
• Be passionate about being an active part of Mount Aloysius College Theatre!

Criteria:

These scholarships of $1,000 are renewable each year, provided you maintain the following criteria:

• Be registered as a full-time student.
• Participate in two productions per semester (either in performance or production areas).*
• Attend all strikes (removal of the set following each production).
• Maintain a 3.0 GPA.
  

*Please note: participation will normally require a minimum of 40 hours per semester (unless otherwise instructed). If you have an official position, you must complete all assigned tasks (even if it might go over the required hours).

As part of your interview, you will be asked to perform two contrasting monologues (e.g., one serious, one humorous). Each monologue can be no longer than two minutes in length.
