Wine Expert

Adam Knoerzer, founder of ‘Burghundy LLC, is an independent wine educator, writer, and consultant.

He is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and holds the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines with Distinction. Adam is also the reigning United States champion in the Wines of South Africa Sommelier Cup, besting over 250 wine professionals nationally and representing the United States in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2019.

Adam teaches private and corporate events on all topics within the world of wine, and his writing contributions can be found in Table Magazine, Wine Folly, JancisRobinson.com, and beyond. He helps design wine programs in the Pittsburgh area, and you can frequently catch Adam on Talk Pittsburgh on KDKA/CBS Pittsburgh leading segments on wine.

Altoona Brass Collective

At the start of the summer in 2017, five musicians stood on a street corner in Cresson, PA, having just finished a brass quintet concert. These musicians had been playing for years in small quartets and quintets incorporating various professional brass players in the Blair County area. The conversation on this street corner quickly turned to the question of “what would happen if we brought together a larger number of players, and combined our individual strengths into a self-governing and collectively-operated ensemble?”

Fast forward several years…and we now know the answer to that question is “we’ve got a powerhouse band with a unique sound that takes full advantage of each member’s special strengths!” There’s no sound quite like the Altoona Brass Collective!
